How to Save a Life - Steps to CPR
|
In an emergency, quick action can make all the difference. Follow these essential steps to provide CPR when every second counts:
-
Ensure Safety Before proceeding, confirm the area is secure.
-
Check for a Response Gently tap the individual and call out to see if they respond.
-
Get Help Ask someone nearby to call emergency services and retrieve an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
-
Check for Signs of Life Look for a pulse or any signs of breathing.
-
Begin Chest Compressions
- Start compressions at a pace of 100 to 120 beats per minute.
- Perform 30 chest compressions, followed by two breaths.
- Repeat this cycle five times, then check again for signs of life.
